The Workplace Charging Scheme — don't leave it on the table.

Up to £350 per socket

The OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) provides funding toward the upfront cost of installing EV charge points at eligible workplaces. The grant is available to businesses, charities and public sector organisations — and is claimed by your OZEV-authorised installer on your behalf.

Combined with commercial solar generation powering the chargers, the total cost of fleet electrification is significantly lower than most operators assume. We manage the grant application as part of the installation process.

The right charger for your operation.

AC — Destination Charging
Workplace Charger
7 kW

Standard single-phase AC charging. A vehicle plugged in for 8 hours gains approximately 55 miles of range. Suited to employees or visitors who park for extended periods.

Best for: offices, retail car parks, hotels, low-turnover workplace bays
AC — Fast Charging
Fast Charger
22 kW

Three-phase AC charging. Charges most EVs in 2–4 hours. Suitable for higher-turnover applications where vehicles need to be charged and returned to service within a shift.

Best for: fleet depots, logistics, medium-turnover commercial car parks
DC — Rapid Charging
Rapid / Ultra-Rapid
50–150kW

DC rapid charging delivers 80% charge in 20–45 minutes depending on vehicle capability. Required for high-turnover fleet operations, haulage, and public-facing rapid charge facilities.

Best for: HGV/LCV fleets, logistics hubs, destination rapid charge points

01
Site assessment & grant eligibility check

We assess your site's electrical infrastructure, available DNO capacity, parking layout and fleet or visitor profile. We confirm WCS grant eligibility and identify any electrical upgrades required to support the charger load.

02
System design & load management

We design a charging infrastructure solution scaled to your fleet size and DNO capacity — including smart load management to distribute available capacity across multiple chargers without triggering expensive network upgrades.

03
OZEV grant application

Your OZEV-authorised installer applies for the Workplace Charging Scheme grant on your behalf. We manage the documentation and submission. The grant is deducted from the installation cost — you pay the net amount.

04
Installation, commissioning & billing setup

OZEV-authorised installation to BS7671. Commissioning includes smart charging configuration, OCPP backend connection for network management, and where required, billing software setup for cost-recovery from employees or customers.

What businesses ask about EV charging.

Most commercial sites have sufficient DNO capacity for initial EV charging deployment, particularly when smart load management is used to share available capacity dynamically. We assess your existing supply and DNO connection during the site survey. For larger fleet applications, a DNO capacity upgrade may be required — we manage this process.
Solar alone cannot charge vehicles overnight as it generates no power without sunlight. However, a solar-plus-battery system can store daytime generation and use it to contribute to overnight charging, reducing grid draw. For most fleet depots, the optimal solution is solar during the day, overnight charging on off-peak grid tariffs, with battery storage bridging the gap.
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open communication standard that allows chargepoints to connect to any compatible backend management system. Installing OCPP-compliant chargers avoids vendor lock-in — you can switch network operator or management platform without replacing hardware. We only specify OCPP-compliant equipment.
Yes. Smart chargers with OCPP connectivity support cost-recovery billing — employees can be billed via RFID card or app, and public-facing chargers can accept contactless payment. This can convert your charging infrastructure from a cost centre into a revenue stream. We configure billing software as part of commissioning.
